Took 250 hours to get my PPL!!!

Hello, this is really embarrassing but it took me a total of 250 hours just to get my PPL because I kept stopping and starting my training with long breaks in between. Now I am considering getting the rest of my ratings and trying to make a career in flying. Should I even bother or did me taking embarrassingingly so many hours to get my PPL ruin my chance at a flying career? Thank you for your replies and feel free to laugh at me….
